CHILDHOOD ABUSED_2005
photographic tryptichs, sizes variable

The series "Childhood Abused" consists of photographic triptychs of drawings and photographs on the subject of child manipulation and the hasty formation of the child in the context of family, educational and religious education. Adult authority - the imposition of social norms, discipline and punishment, physical, spiritual and emotional coercion, intimidation and guilt - define power relations and influence voluntarily or not the freedom and personality of the child.
In an attempt to approach the mixed childhood experiences and memories, I "filtered" archival family photos by re-photographing them, and I often manipulated them with the use of mixed materials. Parallel to the photographs, I worked on a series of drawings, which I then photographed. The final result is a collection of images, where photographs and drawings are presented in a single photographic body acting as indications of a "violated" childhood.
